2200 W., Layton, Utah 84041, on Saturday, May 6th at 11:00am with a viewing preceding the service from 9:30am to 10:30am. Funeral services will be held at the Layton Parke Ward Chapel, 400 S. He will be missed, loved and remembered every day.Ī viewing will be held Friday, May 5th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Farmington Russon Mortuary, 1941 N. George lived in Beautiful Bountiful for 59 years before retiring to the wilderness of Layton, Utah for his final years. George served his first mission in the Southern states as a young Elder and then subsequently in Fort Apache Arizona with his wife and then on to London England, serving in a small branch and the London temple. George served faithfully as a Bishop in the Bountiful 31st Ward. The tally of his magnificent posterity continues to rise with today's official count at 41 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren. He took them water skiing, snow skiing, camping and at least annually to Lake Powell. He worked from dawn to dusk but always spent time and loving affection on his 8 adoring children. George excelled in business and brought joy and Ice Cream all across the Wasatch Front for decades. They corresponded, courted and married in the Logan temple in 1958. Casper seeing the thunderstruck George prophesized correctly, "She will be your wife!"

George was assisting his mission president father Casper Merrill, when he came across the photo of a rare beauty, sister missionary Patricia HIll. George volunteered for the draft and served his great country honorably in the United States Army.

Graduated Logan High School and Utah State University.Īlthough a true Aggie his heart always remained true to BYU blue. George passed away gently surrounded by his loving family and beautiful wife Patricia.īorn in Logan, Utah.
